Lucerna is located in the Illawarra region of NSW. We believe that a candle should not only smell beautiful, but also look beautiful, whether the candle is a gift for a loved one, a corporate or event gift, or a gift for yourself.
You may notice with some other candles that the tops can be quite "lumpy", adhesion of the wax to the glass is inconsistent, in addition to other aesthetic issues. Some producers put this down to the "natural nature of soy wax" however it is possible to avoid these issues when using 100% soy wax.
Candle making is a complex task, and requires that pouring temperatures, fragrance load, wick size and curing time are specific to the size of the container being used and the climate within which it is made.
If the candle is exposed to serious fluctuations in temperature during the transportation process, there may be slight changes to the appearance of the candle which are beyond our control. These may include retraction of the wax from the glass or slight sweating on the top of the candle. Once the candle is received and subjected to a consistent temperature for a period of a day or so, these issues should self-rectify. These issues, however, are not common.
At Lucerna, we have spent considerable time perfecting our processes in order to provide our valued customers with candles, soaps and body products that are beautiful in every way. If the aesthetics of our candles and other products are affected by variables out of our control, we will not sell them.
The word "Lucerna" has meaning in many different languages… In Latin, it means "candle light", "lamp" and "oil lamp" (the latter 2 also being the meaning of Lucerna in Italian). It also means ‘lantern’ in French and some other languages.
We are committed to producing beautiful, ethically produced products that are gentle to you and our environment. Our processes and packaging also reflect our commitment to the environment, and all our packaging is recyclable. We never have, and never will, use palm oil or any animal products in our collections. Our products are not tested on animals, and none of the ingredients we use are tested on animals.
